Le Grande Depart

Welcome to the start of my blog... nothing in particular. First I have to give props to W. Flaiz, for the naming rights to the blog. NIP is his creation. It's a collection to random thoughts/sentences that make up a story. It was started in the early 90's, so I figured I could borrow the title. The other half of the name, BBP, refers to my life as a cyclist. It stands for Big Boy Pullin'. More on that.

Here's the basic background/bio info. I'm 36 yrs old, live in Chester County, & work in Phila. for a large insurance company. I have been married for 4 years (almost), to my beautiful, wonderful wife Julie. Our big news is that a little bundle of joy will join us on or about 12/20/07. I have been thrilled with the pregnancy and the thought of impending fatherhood. Hopefully, baby Hebe will begin cooperating, so Jules can enjoy it as well. Between the nausea, "growing pains" & kidney stones, Jules has had to soldier through a tough 19 weeks... and counting. I am also the younger, "bigger" brother to The Legend. I have followed many of his footsteps for many years, cycling & now blogging to name a few. At 6" & 210+lbs., I'm not quite your prototypical cyclists, but it is fun none the less. I historically have been a recreational cyclist, doing a few charity rides a year. I recently have added "racer" to my list. I now have 1 CX race under my belt. I went from being Mike's race day lackey to one of the elite C racers. All I'll say is I finished...not last, & that I'd entertain a race again. My preference will continue to be the West Chester/Iron Hill group rides. My friends in the B+/B rides will get to enjoy the Spinnaker like draft of BBP.

That's all for now. Jules & I just watched the finish of the Tour. A fine showing for the Disco boys. What a great event to watch. Jules loves Phil, he & Paul take us back to our trip to the '05 TdF.

Au Revoir,

BBP
